Appalachian Trail - Virginia Section
The Appalachian Trail is America's most famous footpath - 2,190 miles from Georgia to Maine, and you're going to hike one of its best sections. The Virginia Blue Ridge includes McAfee Knob (the most photographed spot on the AT), Tinker Cliffs, Dragons Tooth, and endless ridge walks with mountain views. You'll meet thru-hikers chasing their dreams from Georgia to Maine, stay in trail shelters, experience trail magic from local 'trail angels,' and live the culture that defines American long-distance hiking. This is 50-70 miles over a week - real mileage that demands fitness and mental toughness. You'll carry everything you need, filter water from mountain streams, and hike a path worn smooth by millions of boots. This trip connects you to something bigger: a tradition of walking for the sake of walking, living simply, and finding yourself in the mountains. Boys return home with 'trail names' earned on trail and a hunger to thru-hike someday.
