Knobstone Trail
The Knobstone is Indiana's Appalachian Trail - and it might be harder than the AT per mile. Those 58 miles pack 8,000+ feet of elevation gain through relentless ups and downs. Thru-hikers call it 'the toughest trail in the Midwest,' and they're not exaggerating. But we're not thru-hiking it - we're cherry-picking the best sections for 3-4 day trips. The north end near Deam Lake is spectacular. The middle sections test your hill-climbing legs. The south end near Delaney Park has those iconic Indiana knobs. This is the trip for boys who crushed Red River Gorge and want to prove they're ready for Tier 2. It's hard, it's honest, and finishing it builds legitimate confidence. You want to see who's got grit? Take them to the Knobstone.
