Ozark Trail Sections
The Ozarks are the Midwest's forgotten mountains - ancient, eroded, beautiful, and tough. The Ozark Trail runs 400+ miles through Missouri hill country with elevation changes that'll make your quads scream. We'll tackle sections like the Taum Sauk or Bell Mountain - rocky bluff hiking with big views. The terrain is more challenging than Red River Gorge, the trails are less maintained, and you're more remote. This is for boys who've proven themselves on easier Tier 1 trips and want something harder. It's a long drive, but the Ozarks have a culture and ecology distinct from anything else in our region. Consider this the 'honors class' of Tier 1 backpacking.
